SAINT FRANCISVILLE, LA (FEBRUARY 11, 2019) – New West Feliciana Parish Economic Development Director, Jim Cavanaugh, hit the ground running. As Site Development Director for Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC), Mr. Cavanaugh has been responsible for the certification of 32 Louisiana Economic Development (LED) Industrial Certified Sites, which total 12,587 acres in size. For nearly a decade, Cavanaugh has been instrumental in BRAC’s success, cultivating partnerships to generate new jobs and increase capital investment throughout Louisiana’s Capital Region.
Since he joined BRAC in 2009, Cavanaugh has worked closely with statewide elected officials, local government leaders, land owners and professionals in all fields associated with development. He has extensive experience with business development and project management, ranging from economic impact modeling and analysis to corporate recruitment. He also assisted the organization in securing the 800 job IBM Technology Center- the biggest marquis win in recent history for Capital Region economic development. Cavanaugh’s prior experience also includes serving Louisiana Economic Development’s Division of Business Development as a Project Manager II.
